Fresh juniper followed by floral notes of lavender, coriander and lime
A sweet and silky palate that features warm honey and spicy cassia bark
A smooth finish followed by spicy black pepper and earthy notes
4.7/5 - A Stimulating Floral Experience
When tasting this gin you will notice that it is quite sweet and floral compared to other sweet gins in the market, Silent Pool excellently balances the floral flavours amongst the sweet fruit and honey creating a refreshing and warm palate.
Every botanical in this gin comes together producing a rounded flavour full of depth, for example the sweet honey is followed by a stimulating peppery finish which is nicely accompanied by lavender and grapefruit.
Overall we found this gin to be complex and to include a distinct amount of flavours that need to be tasted.
Gin and Tonic
We tried Silent Pool Gin in a G&T with the Fever Tree Mediterranean Tonic Water and we found that the addition of the tonic infuses the botanical flavours of the lavender and chamomile.
This infusion created a nice floral taste which was balanced with the citrus undertones, the finish was quite bitter however the citrus peel and kaffir lime created a nice zesty balance.
Silent Pool features 24 botanicals, some of them are kept secret:
Angelica Root, Honey, Rose Petals, Lavender, Orris Root, Cassia Bark, Juniper Berries, Grains of Paradise, Linden Flowers, Elderflower, Kaffir Lime Leaf, Cubeb Berries, Coriander Seeds, Chamomile, Orange, Bergamot, Pear, Lime, Bitter Orange

History of Silent Pool
Silent Pool Distillers is a British-based distillery that specializes in exquisitely-crafted spirits. The bespoke distillery is best known for its award-winning gin, and from its gorgeous location on the banks of Silent Pool, the brand’s quiet namesake, spirits are crafted with precision and a flair for taste and style.
The distillery has its beginnings in grace and humility. Born from the hearts of a group of friends who shared a love for liquor, SP Distillers was the modern, artisan dream of these inspired comrades. SP Distillers formally began in March 2015 to much excitement; there was a glaring lack in custom-made alcoholic drinks. While James Shelbourne and Ian McCulloch, the founders of SP Distillers, were never experts in making gin, Shelbourne had years of experience in both marketing and distribution, and McCulloch was set alight with a passion for a brand of gin that he wanted to build.
What sets this distillery apart, however, is the passion of the founders to have drinking gin turn into an experience: to imbue the drink with feeling and wonder, rather than just the buzz that comes standard with any alcoholic drink. While the champion of the brand was gin, SP began to delve into other drinks, namely vodka, a limited-release Albury Quince Eau de Vie, and fruit-infused gin cordials. Other foundational team members include founding partner Steve Kavanagh, distillery operations manager Tom Hutchings, finance officer Sophie Best, brand ambassadors India Blanch and John Keeling, bottling headmaster Joe van den Berg, area sales manager Keith Lee, and team player Alex Powell. The brand even has a name for their champion wood-fired boiler: The Major.
The distillery, a beautiful collection of refurbished farm buildings, is located on the Duke of Northumberland’s Albury Estate, already setting itself up for success and sophistication. As mentioned before, the quiet waters of Silent Pool, the distillery’s namesake, stare up at the gorgeous buildings, which house restored stills. Sustainability is at the heart of Silent Pool’s vision, and so, their vintage wood-fired steam boiler provides energy to their copper still. To add to their novelty aesthetic, the distillery is filled with stainless steel tanks, which came from the Vipara Valley in Slovenia. These tanks hold the crafted spirits, as well as the endlessly clear water that forms part of the crafting process.
Silent Pool’s elegant bottle design, alongside their high-quality gin, serves as the hallmark
of their brand. On the bottle of its original gin, flowers and leaves spread the turquoise blue glass in a smooth color reminiscent of copper. To top it off, a seal that gleams like copper is wrapped
around the lid. This is its most noticeable design, its award-winning gin, and it’s easy to see why something that tastes so good would be kept in such a gorgeous bottle.
The box set, which comes with two glasses decorated in that lovely flower pattern on the bottle, is another treat. Overall, their eye for design and taste for quality gin have put themselves ahead of the entire distillery industry.
